Five padel shots to learn off the glass

The walls are what make padel padel. Our coaches picked five shots every new player should practise.

1. The back-wall return

Let the ball pass you, turn with it, and lift it back over the net after it comes off the glass. Patience beats power.

2. The bandeja

A sliced overhead that keeps you at the net. Aim deep and low so it dies in the corner.

3. The side-wall angle

Use the side glass to turn defence into an awkward angle for your opponents.

4. The lob

The most important shot in padel. Push the net team back and take their place.

5. The chiquita

A soft, low ball at the feet of the net players. Ideal after a lob has pushed them back.
